Fuse interview

It is with great pleasure that I introduce the webmaster and band historian for Fuse, Dennis Beebe to “It’s Psychedelic Baby Magazine” readers.  It was my intention to do an interview with available members of the band when I discovered Dennis’ incredible interviews, which I could never hope to match.  Realizing the importance of these interviews I asked and Dennis was kind enough to allow their publication here for which I am most grateful.  Here’s to you Fuseman! Kevin RathertFormed as a sort of Rockford, IL ‘supergroup’ Fuse released only one eponymous album on Epic Records.  But what an album!  Fuse’s webmaster,...

The Seers - Psych Out (1990) review

The Seers "Psych Out" (Cherry Red Records, 1990)The roots of this British band date back to 1984, when they were then known as Rip Van Satan and The Earth Rats. It didn't take long for the band to attract a solid fan base, but several years passed before a full-length album came into being. Track for track, "Psych Out" is a real dazzler. A fertile union of primal energy, an edgy attitude, and fierce hooks give the album all the proper credentials to make it a worthwhile listen.Released either a few years too late or a few years too early, "Psych Out" proves to be something of the missing link between the sixties psychedelic garage rock revival...

The See See - Fountayne Mountain (2012) review

Fuse - Fuse (1970/2001) review

Classic Rockford, Illinois Psychedelic Rock!‘Fuse’ by Fuse (Epic Records, 1970; Sony Rewind Records 2001)Formed by the merging of two of Rockford’s top rock acts of the day with the intent of writing and playing original songs Fuse left behind a small but absolutely essential body of recorded work.  From The Grim Reapers came vocalist Joe Sundberg and guitarist/keyboardist Rick Nielsen, while the bluesy Toast ‘N’ Jam supplied lead guitarist Craig Myers, drummer Chip Greenman and bassist Tom Peterson.  The band would perform as The Grim Reapers right up to signing with Epic Records who thought the band’s name was too dark, thus the...
